Canadian singer Dom Durner meets Gypsy Swing London band Gypsy Dynamite.
I am really excited to share with you this new musical project of mine: Dom Durner & The Dynamite!
Some of you might know my Gypsy Swing band Gypsy Dynamite, formed by Giulio Romano Malaisi and myself in 2012 and which has always been an instrumental project playing Gypsy Jazz standards as well as more traditional Jazz, Spanish and Italian music. Since Gypsy Dynamite was born, we have been working with some of the best musicians in town such as David Horniblow (clarinet), Giacomo Smith (clarinet), Dario Di Lecce (double bass), Greg Miller (harmonica) and Mehboob Nadeem (sitar) just to name a few.
There is great news for 2016: We have just started a new collaboration with a singer, something we had never tried out before… Well, it’s not just “a” singer, it’s an incredible artist and also a great friend of ours, Dom Durner!
Canadian singer, Dom Durner has traveled all over the world spreading his love for music amongst the masses. Having settled in London since a few years now, he’s worked with some amazing artists and has founded some incredible bands already, such as The Manouche and The Flying Shoes.
Now we are proud to have him in Gypsy Dynamite for a series of live recordings and gigs. We already had the pleasure to perform with Dom in a few venues such as the London temple of Gypsy Jazz music Le QuecumBar, and in Paris at La Bellevilloise: it’s been a great success every time.
Does this new collaboration of Gypsy Dynamite work?
Well, we think it really really does and we can’t wait to share our new music with you, stay tuned for the upcoming shows!
